teachwire.net/secondary This innovative educational tool enables teachers to deliver remote coding lessons to a class of any size micro:bit classroom EASY TO LEARN The BBC micro:bit device introduces learners to the concepts of coding, and how software and hardware design relate to each other. The basics can be learnt in just one hour – once mastered, teachers can set up programming lessons using the micro:bit classroom in less than two minutes. SIMPLE TO SET UP micro:bit classroomwill let you set up a shared online coding space for your class without the need for logins or passwords. Once you have set your micro:bit classroom to ‘open’, students with the link can join your live lesson as and when. HIGHLY ADAPTABLE BBC micro:bit devices can be programmed using Microsoft’s MakeCode or Python. Each device includes an LED display; motion, temperature and light sensors; and can communicate wirelessly with other devices. Projects can include REASONS TO TRY… setting reminders to wash hands (very timely at present), a system to prevent queuing, a countdown clock and more besides.
