Teach Secondary magazine is delighted to announce that nominations are now open for the second annual Technology and Innovation Awards – dedicated to highlighting and celebrating the most exciting and effective new products and resources for the classroom, as well as those individuals who are playing an important role in developing teaching and learning for the 21st century.

The award categories for 2015 are as follows:

  • Best teacher Whatever his or her specialist subject, this is an educator who is as passionate about technology as pedagogy, and uses it to ensure that every lesson is engaging, memorable and effective

  • Best school We're looking for a school where technology and innovation are at the heart of the curriculum; where everyone is involved in making sure that the use of technology is purposeful and creative; and where experimentation and risk-taking are an important part of the learning journey.

  • Best author Is there a book that has really helped you get to grips with technology in your classroom this year? If so, we want to recognise the author with an award!

  • Technology & innovation ambassador This will be an individual who has made an exceptional contribution to the progress of technology and innovation in education this year. It might be an inventor, a CEO, a broadcaster, a writer, a celebrity... or someone else entirely; it's up to you.

  • Technological Innovation of the Year A product, service or resource that has made a genuinely unique and significant contribution to improving standards of teaching and learning at Key Stages 3 and 4 during the 2014/15 academic year.

    The closing date for nominations is June 15th, after which shortlists will be passed to a panel of independent judges who will make the final selections. Shortlisted nominees may be contacted and asked to supply further details in order to help the panel make its decision.

    The winners will be announced in Technology & Innovation magazine, in September, and also posted on teachsecondary.com.
