The launch of GCSEPod 2.0 has transformed the product. As well as additional, richer and more relevant images, extra keywords have been introduced and the product now takes on the look and feel of popular social sites that students are familiar with out of school. The visual appearance and performance of 2.0 is exactly the same regardless of device, which is hugely significant for both engagement and inclusivity. Students can create and share their own revision playlists helping to make GCSEPod a natural extension of their day to day social platforms. The ‘Extras’ functionality allows useful material to be added, for example, images videos and links to other educationally relevant material. This enables students to become active learners, extending education, satisfying curiosities with the ability to share with others. This is the first academic year that GCSEpod 2.0 has been in use and whilst impact on results is not yet possible to measure, anecdotal feedback has been hugely positive and usage stats have soared.
