Who are we?

Young Enterprise is the UK’s leading enterprise education charity. For over 50 years YE has worked with young people to enable them to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes they need for the world of work. YE delivers a range of programmes for 4-25 year olds, from one day masterclasses to year-long programmes.

What do we offer?

Company Programme

Aimed at 15-19 year olds and runs across one academic year, enabling participants to explore what it’s really like to set up and run a business. Young people make all the decisions, from deciding on the company name

and product to creating a business plan, managing the finances and selling to the public. All this takes place with the support of a volunteer adviser who brings a wealth of business knowledge and expertise.

Class Programmes

One-day programmes for classes and year groups focus on specific areas such as how to manage money to avoid getting into debt, and how each person’s talents can open up a career path.

Howwill it help students?

A recent survey by Opinium found that 70% of employers have difficulty finding good quality applicants for entry-level jobs. Young Enterprise supports teachers to help young people develop knowledge, skills and attitudes they need to succeed in the world of work. In the 2013/14 evaluation of Company:

n 90% of teachers agree that taking part has increased self-awareness in participants’ own capabilities and potential

n 82% of young people felt that it has given them the confidence to succeed in the future.
