The Wicked Young Writers’ Award is calling for final entries to the 2015 award which closes on 17 April. New teachers’ resources and a ‘top tips’ video from new judge Cressida Cowell have been added to the website to help inspire young writers. www.wickedyoungwritersaward.com .
The exercise-based new resources include a Genre Writing Pack – which looks at what genre is, an Inspiration Pack – examining how to create stories using costumes and objects as starting points, and a Fan Fiction Pack – which explores how students can write stories based on other authors’ work. All fan fiction entered is eligible for the SUGARSCAPE FAN FICTION AWARD, awarded for the first time as part of the Wicked Young Writers’ Award 2015.
The winner of the SUGARSCAPE FAN FICTION AWARD will see their work published on Sugarscape.com and will be treated to lunch with the Sugarscape editor before their special Wicked experience.
The school with the highest number of entries will receive a bespoke writing workshop at their respective school.
