​Russell Brand may have got teens talking about politics – but if all they’re saying is ‘there’s no point voting’, you might want to think about how to offer them a different perspective. Parliament Week is a national initiative coordinated by the Houses of Commons and Lords, and this year will include a full programme of activities taking place at Portcullis House in Westminster. These will range from a Young Person’s Question Time debate to workshops exploring the main theme for 2013: Women in Democracy. It’s a great opportunity for young people actively to engage with our political system – if only to make non-participation a more informed choice…
