FutureChef 2015 - are you teaching Britain’s next top chef?

Springboard’s FutureChef is now in its 15th year and is the biggest and most successful national secondary school cooking initiative in the UK. Last year, over 6,000 students took part in the year-long school programme and over 8,000 12-16 year olds from 550 schools took part in the competition.

“Springboard’s FutureChef helps inspire young people to get excited about careers in the hospitality industry. Not only does it provide valuable work experience but it equips them with the skills to succeed and progress in their future career within Hospitality,” says Brian Turner CBE, Springboard’s FutureChef Chairman

The initiative was first developed as a result of research findings revealing the biggest skills shortage in the industry is in the kitchen due to lack of cooking in both the home and on the school curriculum.

The Springboard Charity was keen to do something about it, and with significant support and funding from The Savoy Educational Trust, the initiative was developed to support schools and students around the UK.
