International competition to promote scientific discovery

  • International competition to promote scientific discovery

Vernier Software & Technology, a provider of technology for science education, will be giving away five wireless temperature sensors every week throughout September to help promote discovery in science education.

The Go Wireless™ Temp is a great addition to any learning environment; it enables students to wirelessly collect data and observe temperature changes in real-time. The portable device means that learning is no longer confined to the classroom either, as students can venture outdoors to conduct exciting experiments, such as determining the relationship between temperature, time of day, and wind; a welcome change from the usual, run-of-the-mill activities.

The rugged, fit-for-purpose probe can be used alongside the free Go Wireless™ app, which enables students to view live readings from the sensor and graphically examine the results. Students can also export collected data for further analysis in third-party apps, such as Numbers.

Anyone over the age of 21 is invited to enter the competition; all they have to do is “like” Vernier on Facebook and then write a short review about a Vernier product, service, workshop or grant directly on to Vernier’s Facebook page. Five winners will then be selected at random each week throughout September. For more information and full contest rules, visit Vernier’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/VernierST.
